I was told due to that my HTC encrypted the card to my phone and there was no password they would not honor the protection plan and replace my card.1Used it once, got all my data backI have purchased 5-6 external hard drives and 5 sd cards with this plan. I've had to actually use the service once, and they recovered every bit of my lost data. I found the process to be very well done. It took a bit longer than I originally expected to get my data back (about 10 days), but the recovered data was returned on a brand new drive and it was even in the same format. I'm thankful for this kind of service. I'll buy it every time.5Great if your electronics break long-term, but not if it fails right outside of RMA.I have no complaints with this "product", but I had to burn it because my RAM failed right outside of the return period. It could be worse. Most reviews seem to complain about not receiving an email. I ordered the drive and service plan 9.17.15, I received confirmation of the service plan on 9.19.15. It was titled Amazon Service Plan Order Confirmation and was straight forward, however I forgot to register it, that is until the drive failed.Now many companies out there would use that as an excuse to not honor the plan. Seagate immediately registered the plan no questions asked (yes I did have to provide purchase receipt- but thats hardly an unreasonable request). I called to initiate the claim, where they asked what happened and stated that in a couple days I would receive and email with a return label, which I did. It took me a few days to get it out, they even sent a reminder that they had not received my media.Honestly through the whole process, their communication was incredible. They notified me of when the drive was received, gave me a time frame of expected completion, notified me of when the attempt to recover began, notified me that they were able to recover the data and when they shipped my media back to me. They also have an online tracking system that you can follow as well.From start to finish- the drive was received at their labs on 4.7 and expected completion was 4.28, however I recevied the package tonight. The media was returned to me along with a 4T Backup Plus Drive w/200G cloud storage. Everything was sent signature required and the drive was sent password protected, which I need to call tomorrow to figure out what the password is.I have to say I was skeptical they would get anything off a failed flash drive, but they did. Everything was perfect along the way and I got a much better drive in return. The best 2.99 I ever spent!! I have another drive that I plan to send them for recovery as a result (not on a plan- so I'm paying the recovery fees, thats how much I enjoyed their service!5
