Customer Reviews

Five Stars Worked out really great for my enclosed trailer 5Stonger than other brands These straps are better made and a higher quality than the normal straps you would find for sale. The strap is made from a thick material and the mfg has included a loop on the end for ease of pulling tight. The loop also keeps the strap from sliding out of the cinch when you release the binding. I have owned a set of these exact same straps for 20 years and i wanted no other brand or style when i was currently ordering another set. I do have a few other brands, But none of those seem to last like the PowerTye mfg does. The hook is also made from a thicker material than other kinds i have seen. I cannot say enough about why you should purchase these over other brands, But you wont be dissapointed with the quality. Also look into getting the Soft Straps, so you dont need to put a metal hook onto your atv/cycle frame or handle bars to resists scrathing. 5Used on dirt bike carrier Work perfect, great quality, no slippage yet 5These are exactly what I expected very heavy duty well-built ... These are exactly what I expected very heavy duty well-built remind me of the one that you used to get from the motorcycle shops 30 years ago 5Made in the USA Really nice straps good quality pretty beefy!! 5Heavy Duty Straps. Very strong strap. Large, beefy hooks. Maintains tight hold. 5Quit using those cheap straps on your expensive stuff! It kills me when I see people strapping down a $30k motorcycle with wimpy, Chinese, box store, cheapy, junk tie down straps. And amazingly I see it all the time! DON'T DO IT! My work requires me to transport motorcycles on a regular basis. I quickly learned that cheapy box store tie downs tear easily, their junky ratchet buckles sometimes break, their cam locks slip, and that a mishap due to a tie down failure can be pretty devastating. Unfortunately good tie downs don't come cheap. Starting in the early 80's I began using Ancra brand tie downs exclusively and they were (and still are) great. They got really pricey though, so about 10 years ago I started looking for alternatives. I came across the US made Powertye products and have never looked back. Whether it's cam buckle or ratchet style tiedown straps, or soft ties, everything I have used is top, premium quality and reasonably (although not cheap) priced. As to these 1" cam lock tie downs in particular, these are my most used style and what I use 80% of the time. Many people prefer the ratchet style buckles and they do have their benefits. The ratchet style buckles are easy to cinch down once you get the hang of how they work, and they do just feel like they would be more secure. What I don't like is that heavy chunk of steel with lots of sharp edges swinging around a painted gas tank while you are hooking it up. Also, I can cinch down a cam buckle in a fraction of the time of a ratchet. Note that after literally 100's of thousands of miles, I have NEVER had a cam buckle slip on any premium tiedown. I find I use the cam lock style more for a single bike, but when I have multiple bikes close together the ratchet style are easier to "tune", especially in an enclosed trailer. I personally prefer the S hook style ends used with separate soft ties only when needed as soft ties move the buckle very low and more difficult to get to when when doing the preliminary tie down from above the bike. As to the 1" size as opposed to 1 1/2" or 2", I find on a motorcycle anything bigger than 1" to be overkill. I cannot imagine breaking an undamaged 1" strap. Remember me mentioning that hunk of steel swinging around while you are hooking up? Wait until you bash that mongo ratchet on those 2" straps into a customer's paint job and see how that works out. 5Good product Good ,strong straps . 5Five Stars Nice quality 5Best motorcyle tie downs! Better quality than cycle gear brand made overseas. Thicker webbing and heavier duty stitching. These are made here in the US by american workers. 5
