What a jokeI bought this scanner thinking I can use it with a computer that isn't online. Well to find out you have to have Internet connection to install the software. Even know when you try to plug into usb there is a red tag saying to install software cd before connecting to your computer.So I tried to call tech support there isn't a number. So I tried to create a account and it won't reconsize my email server. Saying not a correct host. So guess I'm screwed 1Good product for the priceI purchased this because the scanner that I got with NEAT several years ago broke. It was more cost effective to purchase the entire package with warranty than to buy the scanner alone. I would have given the product 5 stars if customer support was better. It is hit or miss on receiving the support depending on who you get. I enjoy the program and it is easy to use and I can save and categorize pdf files for everything that I scan. The phone app allows me to take pictures of receipts so that I don't have to scan them. That is a real time saver. In researching this type of program, I decided that this is the most cost efficient one for personal use. 4Just might be worth the time one day but not any time soon. Many problems. Good Idea VERY Poor ExecutionPretty cool filing system BUT... I bought it to go with Quickbooks Pro 2016. So I can scan receipts file them then transfer information over to customers. Well, you cant do that. You have to use the online subscription version of Quickbooks. Next, I tried to reach out to customer support via email. No email for support is available online. If you go to "Contact Us" there is no way to email someone there. So I opened a complaint file which you can do from the support page, but that was 6 DAYS AGO! Today they emailed me back with some specific questions about my computer, software version, etc. So I composed a REPLY to that email with all of these specific answers and hit send, away you go. BUT, it didnt end there, oh NO. I get an auto-reply from NEAT Support and it says "You have reached an inactive and unmonitored address". Then it instructs me to go to the help center [...]support. The same place I was before where there is no email address to send my answers and that got me in this round robin in the first place.Second Problem: Contacts where you load business cards for quick reference will not allow me to fill in the State where that person is from. Drop-down menu doesn't work and it wont let me type it in. That makes this part of it pretty well useless except for contacts that all live in the same state.Third Problem: In Contacts there is a field with a yellow dot next to it. This field is the "Email" field. And I deal with some old timers who don't have email addresses, I call them. But NEAT thinks you forgot something important so even after you saved everything and moved on, even in the higher up menus that contact is flagged. It says that you didn't put in "Important Information". So the little annoying flag will pop up all the time now when Im looking through contacts.The millennials should have hired a couple thirty-somethings to help test this stuff out. 1Scanner is good, software not so much.The scanner works fine, however the software isn't what I thought it would be. I was under the impression that each receipt would show up line by line instead of all lumped into one category. That is why I purchased this version over a standard scanner. 3STOP! This is the LAST review you need for this product / company.The product doesn't function as stated. They have discontinued software support for the legacy software even though sales will state that you don't need a subscription (current at the time of this being written). plan on spending $180 for the software to run the product which isn't mentioned. Chat support (put on hold), Phone support, routed to Chat support. 1garbageP.O.S. never recognizes paper. I've only successfully used this once after having to uninstall the software driving and restart my computer multiple times. Really wished it just would work since the time I got it successfully working was great. I don't have an hour to spend troubleshooting every time I want to scan receipts. DO NOT BUY. I'm better off taking photos of receipts with my iPhone and emailing to myself then waste time with this piece of crap 1Don t waste your timeContrary to the other reviews, you need to be signed up for the cloud. Legacy software is not included. I found the scanner a waste of time and since I already use quickbooks, I can just scan my receipts into that. 2LOVEI really like this product. Kind of slow to upload but no problem for me. After my computer updated for some reason it wasn't working anymore. I did the chat help and the person helped me remove the driver and then install again. For some reason it still wasn't working so he asked if he could remotely access my computer. I gave permission. Something popped up on my screen to show they were on there. I watched as he uninstalled and then installed the driver again. Then as everything was working again he logged off my computer and I could see it. Ever since then it has worked perfectly. Still slow to upload but absolutely love this product! There is also an app for your phone! 5Five StarsWorks fantastic! a bit tricky to find the needed software but works exactly like I wanted it too! 5Five StarsPerfect for small business owners to keep their records up to date. so glad i purchased this. 5
