There is almost no natural light coming into these areas. If the light goes out, you need a flash light. This is a simple, but nice looking, heavy fixture. It gives good lighting and then when dimmed has the room cozy. :) Since I am not handy, I had my son's friend install the fixtures and it took him all of 20 minutes to install both of them including a new dimmer switch. The glass is not shaded like it appears - it's white but when you have low lighting, it gives it more of the appearance that's displayed. It has 2 light bulbs in each fixture. I have looked all around for lighting so the pricing wasn't bad and getting the fixtures in 2 days was the best :) So far so good.........5Four Starsvery nice lights4
