I see it will be easier to save money now by dumping cable TV!!!I ve read many of the reviews for this and several other of he HDTV 150mile range antennas of this style, (if you carefully look at this to the $55 one sold by a different reseller they re exactly the same unit), and think this is an excellent antenna. If you understand how digital and FM/UHF to AM signals work it s by line of site. So FM signals work horizontally across the landscape and AM is a vertical signal bouncing off of the ground and atmosphere. That being said, if you have a big building or major hill or live in a valley you may have issues with the signal. So most people who can t get this to work don t have the antenna high enough for the line of site signal.I live 52 miles of NYC to the east and I wanted to see how well this antenna would work before even installing it outside on the roof. I put the antenna on my kitchen table and pointed in the general direction of New York City. The I hooked it up to TV we have in our kitchen, turned it on and did a scan. The exact location of NYC to us is 245 degrees. Just have it site there without having it in the exact direction I got 30 channels pretty clearly. We are at 260 feet of elevation and we do have a hilltop that does block us from completely clear line of site of the city but even with that we got great reception. Once I install the antenna on the roof it will be 20ft higher than where it was when testing in our kitchen. If using your smartphone or tablet you can find out through several websites the exact degree you are from which ever city you are close to that broadcasts TV signals. Then lining up the antenna to the exact degree the reception should be excellent. So getting the 150 mile range antenna almost ensures any NYC station will come in clear and many NJ stations and possible down to Philly which is less then 150 miles from us. I could careless about getting stations that far but to get all of NYC stations and if I use the rotation function I then can get L.I. Stations as well as Hartford. Since we have Amzn Prime, Rooku and the over the air digital HDTV antenna I can now say see you later to Cblevision and their constant increase in pricing for basic cable. Yes we will loose some channels but I m just sick of the monopoly cable has in the area and stuck for TV options. This antenna solves a big chunk of getting local station broadcasts and made it that much easier to make the switch.5It helps in SeattleWe dumped cable TV back in 2014. We had no interest in all the channels on cable so why pay for it? And over the air channels have a better resolution. The problem was getting the right antenna or antennas as I tried several all pointing in different directions and types. The weather here in Seattle also affects the signal. So I finally decided that I needed one that rotated and amplified so spent a little money on this one.Very easy to install. I installed it in the attic attaching a one inch pipe I had to a rafter. Immediately we had great reception. I have not seen that no reception message come up yet or missed the winning touchdown. I also haven't had to rotate it. It does need the amplifier to be on or there is no reception. My wife is happy now that the area is cleaned up... Best investment in our entertainment system yet!5Customer service (jessica) is great, just wonder how many jessica,s there are lolFirst of all i have to say that the customer service is excellent, antenna worked right out the box and i got 13 channels, but i live in Wv so my signal strength is weak but thats not the antenna,s fualt, just livin in the middle of the woods will do that lol. All i can say is if i got 13 channels then dont hesitate to buy, as far build quality its a antenna and most of them are built cheap and flimsy and this one aint know different, it turns ok but fast, in the winter i dont see it turning anything so set it and forget it.5The best for cord cuttersI used this antenna to replace my satellite. It needed to work with two TVs and the cables were outside the house. Jessica sent me a splitter and the antenna and both TVs now work wonderfully. I was never able to get HD TV with the satellite and my picture is now so much clearer now that I am getting HD. And as a bonus, I now get 30 local channels where is with the satellite they only provided me three. Great product, don't hesitate to buy it.5Good Picture Quality and Customer SupportProduct was easy to assemble and install. Picture quality is quite amazing. The only downfall is the stated range, which I feel is over rated or the antenna would have to be at an unrealistic height to possible achieve the range in the specs quoted. Customer service was amazing as the first unit sent out was defective, but after contacting customer service, they promptly sent out a replacement. Bottom line, may not get as many channels as hoped, but the ones I do get, the picture quality is very good, and customer service/support is top notch.5Great antenna and Great customer service!I purchased this product to replace my old antenna. I am blind and checked out all the parts. It was so easy to assemble. And the antenna overall is a good looker. When I hooked it up, everything was fine. The customer service at McDuory is exceptional. Jessica provided all the answers to all my questions. She was very prompt with her answers.With my old antenna set-up I was receiving about 25 stations. After scanning with this antenna, now I am receiving 52 with a couple more with scrambled signal. I could probably better the reception on these stations by moving the antenna. It revolves 360 degrees. I was never expecting so many more stations, but there they are. My brother said the picture quality is excellent. I am very satisfied with this McDuory antenna, and would like to recommend it to everyone. You'll be surprised like I was when you can see how many more stations you can receive. So get rid of that old antenna and get satisfied with this one from McDuory.5Good Quality Good RangeAt ~ 40 ft I get channels 20-70 miles away only a few are repeats...... I am in the country.....The only thing I do not like it I have a large house and can't see the antenna so I can't see which way it is pointing. When you want it to turn to a certain position for certain channels this can be annoying. And the buttons sometimes turn the antenna in the same direction so you really don't know which way it is turning.... BUT GOOD FOR THE PRICE.5Cut the cord and getting 18 channels for freeA small antenna that actually does the job. I liked it so much I suggested it to a friend who also bought one. We're both getting 18 channels. Don't miss cable at all. Can't get around the pain of running the cable from the antenna to your tv. I opted to attach it to my chimney, so I had to get into my attic and down my walls, but the reception is fantastic and I like the remote to swivel the antenna so I don't have to get up onto my roof again.5Very Impressed with 2018 Model changesThe 2018 model has the rotor and antenna separated. The interface between the two is a small flexible conductor cable. This change should enhance the rotor motor life. The antenna rotor motor will not have to work against the coax cable on the mast. Two years ago I purchased the all in one version of this antenna. The rotor motor failed, most likely due to the stress of operation against the coax especially in our cold weather months. At $30 dollars this antenna is a real bargain. In my location the antenna got much better reception than a very large and expensive national brand antenna tried and returned.5Good product for a good price.The price is great and it performs as expected. 150 miles is a theoretically possible, but 75 miles is probably more likely in "real world" applications. It was easy to assemble and lightweight, but I worry the plastic may present issues over the long term. However, it seems sturdy enough to to withstand moderately severe weather if mounted correctly. The coax that comes with it was too short for my 45 feet mast, but the included F-F coupler fixed that. Overall, It's a great product for a great price. The customer support is really quick to respond as well.5
