Customer Reviews

The universal aspect of the device is as advertised.I buy in the USA but live for most of the year in Eastern Africa, so my electrical plug requirements can be somewhat eclectic. The equivalents in the local market are cheap D grade quality products that appear to be manufactured with standards only acceptable in the developing world.Seems like a lot of work to get a simple power strip, but having had a number of the cheaper local items damage some of my cables, I was willing to take the risk.Build quality is great, something I took for granted while in the US, can hardly say anything more except that it's great not to have to hunt down a different plug for different electric products.5Worked great in Italy but still needed an adapter in some placesI bought two of these for a week-long trip to Italy for a family cycling vacation. We were going to need to charge headlights, tail lights, phones and laptops every night, and knew the old hotels probably wouldn't have enough outlets. I bought a couple of cubes with dual USB slots, and it handled those (with US plugs) and the 3 prong laptop cords with ease. The only challenge was in the prongs on the power strip itself, and I don't know if this is an Italy problem or a power strip problem. In some hotels, the prongs were too large and widely-spaced, but my husband had an adapter that reduced it perfectly. In other hotels, it worked fine. Who knows. But if you're going to Europe, make sure you have an adapter with you to move this to the smaller European size.4Electrical Engineer ApprovesI'm an electrical engineer. This device uses a plug that will fit most European outlets. The outlets on the power strip are universal so they will fit pretty much anything. THIS IS NOT A TRANSFORMER. It plugs into the wall that has 220V and 50Hz and supplies 220V and 50Hz at the outlets. It's not going to convert 220V, 50Hz to 110V, 60Hz which is what many American electronics are designed for.BUT, it is what I travel with and here's how: Check all your electronics and see what they say on the chargers/power supplies. Typically modern electronics will accept 110-240V & 50-60Hz. That means most everything will work both here, and in Europe (the common travel exceptions are typically hair straighteners and hair dryers). You just need to have this power strip as your adapter, and you can plug this into the wall and then plug your 110-240V electronics into it and DONE, you don't even need to buy tons of plug adapters. For those of you that need to bring along a hair straightener and blow dryer, I recommend ordering a cheap travel version of each that is designed to work with 110-240V and 50-60Hz. If you don't have time, buy some when you land.5THANK GOD FOR this thing!!We are currently in Europe, have been to UK, Germany & Austria, thank GOD for this thing!Hubs barked at me when this large power strip arrived "What do we need that for, it's huge, it will never fit, blah blah blah" and now he's like a dog with a bone.Zero problems, we have an absurd amount of electronics, he somehow is now able to fit the large power strip into his backpack (okay, it is big and bulky) we have used the power strip thus far in hotels, airbnb's, trains, you name it.We especially needed it for his CPAP. Absolutely bring your converter kit, this in addition to your entire converter kit makes you cherry. I'm not going into 110, 220, all that stuff, but make sure you bring your entire kit, not just one adapter.Just buy this damn thing and be done with it.5This item is bigger than what you'd expect, so ...This item is bigger than what you'd expect, so take this into account if you need to place it in a specific place. The wall plug has two round legs that are wider than regular legs, so you may need an extra adapter for it.Other than that, it works very well and you can accommodate any type of plug in there. Very helpful!4Simply, I love it !Well constructed, from good plastic material, and doesn't look cheap at all.The three stars for traveling, is nothing against the product, as the product well worth it, I just think the amazon suggestion for this as an evaluation point is inappropriate, as this is home/ permanent use, not really convenient and I don't think it was meant for travel, although you really can , but its a long stip, to adequately have spaces between plugs for larger transformers etcI like surge protection indicator as well as the on/off switch that allows me to leave my chargers plugged in, but disconnect them from electricity to save power and for protection.Just wish the plug was not the large European F but the smaller C type, which works better in Egypt, but because I love the brand and the seller/ customer support base on other and prior interactions, I decided to buy this one and get a plug adaptor, despite presence of exactly what I am looking for, from other brands and sellers.I think the price is slightly higher than it should be, but considering all in all, I gladly paid for it and I would again in the future.Thank you5Great EU Style Power StripI bought this EU power strip for a lengthy cruise on a ship that had EU style power(220V); since ship cabins are notorious for not having a lot of outlets, I was able to use this power strip to charge up my camera batteries, plus my PC and other electronic gear, without having to worry about having the right adapters. The power strip easily handles the typical US style power plugs and today's power supplies work equally well at 120 or 220 V. My cabin mate for the trip was able to use it, as well, which helped avoid any conflict over outlet access.5Very good design and fits my needs wellI am going to use these overseas in Europe. I started with 2 and bought another 3 later. The construction seems sturdy with robust plastic housing. All sockets are grounded and can accept various European plugs as well as US plugs. The later is my reason to buy additional 3 units.I have many 240V capable electronics with US 2 or 3 prong plugs. The socket design will allow my to plug in these devices without using additional adapters. While I have many such adapters, I prefer not using them to avoid clumsiness and loose/unsafe situations.More importantly the price is more acceptable than many $$ demanding 240V products offered at Amazon. If I need more, I will just get Kriger. Thanks.5Outstanding power stripThis power strip is absolutely perfect for my use. I have this to use for my television and soundbar. We made sure to purchase dual voltage devices to use anywhere in the world, and this power strip is perfect. You can plug in just about any European plug, American plug or British plug to use in whichever country you choose. The plug for this is European, but adapters work like a charm to use anywhere in the world.Keep in mind this DOES NOT change the power. If you are in Europe, you will likely have 220-240VAC 50Hz. Make sure whatever you wish to plug in is safe for the input voltage. If you are in America you will have 120VAC 60Hz, again make sure your device is compatible. Additionally, some dual voltage devices are not automatic, there will be a switch to select the input voltage. This is critical since the wrong voltage will fry your devices almost instantly. Please check your product manual prior to using on a different voltage input. If you need something to turn 120VAC to 220-240VAC or 220-240VAC to 120VAC please look into a Transformer (this power strip is NOT a transformer). Although the power frequency will not change (i.e. 50Hz to 60Hz), it will not fry your device immediately. It may, however, shorten the lifespan of your device.5The best thing I brought to IndiaI took this power strip to a documentary shoot in India and it proved to be one of our most useful pieces of gear. You can plug the power strip into any type C outlet, and plug pretty much anything into the power strip itself. We were plugging in devices from India and the U.S side-by-side and they worked perfectly.Note:If you're new to using plugs abroad, keep in mind that this is only a power strip/adapter, NOT a converter. In layman's terms, it's perfect for plugging in your DC devices - laptop chargers, cell phone chargers, etc. because that rectangular "power brick" part of your charger is already designed to convert AC power all over the world to the DC power your electronics need. What you should NOT do is use it with U.S. appliances that run directly of AC, such as lightbulbs, hair dryers, etc.5
