Awesome bagI love the appearance and texture, but had some initial apprehension about the shoulder pad. It seemed the buckle was a bit too large and the shoulder pad would not slide over it without tearing the leather. I contacted Passion Leather and they suggested that though it is snug, the leather would stretch and the pad would slide over the buckle (the buckle is located right where the pad needs to be, which seemed odd to me). In any event, the pad did slide over the buckle as suggested. Not sure if there is a good reason not to locate the buckle off-center of the strap so as not to be in the way of the pad ... or perhaps it is intentional as the pad then secures the buckle. 5A quality, handmade choice for a fair price.I'll start by saying that I should have just found a solid, leather messenger bag from the get go; but live and learn, and glad I did.This bag, of genuine and HAND-CRAFTED leather is sturdy and thick (very similar to my biker jacket), with zippers and buckles that ACTUALLY WORK, and don't seem like they're going to fall apart at first latching or zippering!I have bought few messenger bags in the past, but this one is absolutely a stellar, handmade product, and the people involved in the crafting aspect not only know how to build a quality bag, but clearly have a love for their craft - and it shows.For more technical aspects; there are 10 pockets, for lack of a better term. 3 with heavy duty YKK zippers, not including the YKK zipper that runs along the top, main section (which, I may add, includes a double zipper.. most excellent.); 1 smaller pouch on the front with a sturdy buckle - the pouch being about 1" shorter than my S8+; and then 6 small to large pockets for laptop, books (and this section is easily 4-5" wide), a small TV, or whatever other depraved things you can think of; the largest section includes a total of 5 of those pockets, 2 being moderate sized (could for a tablet for sure), and 2 being smaller (about the size of my passport holder); and the final pocket, on the front, could easily fit a smaller laptop, a tablet, more books, a medium sized evocation mirror, or even smaller canvases for painting.Overall, I am absolutely pleased with this purchase.I am also pleased that I could support a local, Chicago artisan.May you guys have many plentiful and prosperous years in your craft!All the best.-J 5Great quality and beautifully crafted with A TON of space, review from a woman's perspectiveI'm impressed! Additionally, I was a little worried that this bag was going to be way too big for me because I'm petite - TOTAL shorty! For the price, and previous reviews about Komal and his products, I was not initially very concerned. I did have a few uncertainties, like most of you who are looking for a bag have, so I'll address them below:Size- I needed a bag that could hold my thick 15"laptop, along with a book/binder or two, as I'm finishing school. I also wanted something I could use for work once I'm out of school, so I didn't want to lug around a huge bag. This size is just right. I have room for the computer and books-great. It smells like leather 5Great looking bag, excellent price.I love this bag. It looks super vintage, classic, a little bit adventurous. Doctor Jones probably wouldn't have carried this into a temple of doom, but he would have brought it to his archeology class. It came beautifully packaged in a decorative bag (see picture) with care instructions and a note from the seller printed on parchment paper. I've had unsolicited comments on how cool the bag looks. The buckles are old school, no snap clasps. I like them, but if you're in a rush they do take a few extra seconds to do up. Of a concern, the zippers on the bag are a lightweight black plastic type material. When the bag arrived they were open at the middle and I thought maybe broken. I zipped and unzipped them and they never repeated the problem. I've used the bag hard for a month and no issues, so I don't have a problem recommending. Also, I find I hardly ever use the zippers anyway - the main pockets and buckles are plenty. I'm not sure what I'd put in the extra zipper pockets. Single page of an ancient text? Treasure map?No laptop padding in the bag, but it easily fits an iPad, phone, wallet, cables, magazine, file folders and either my 13 inch MacBook Air or 14 inch ThinkPad - or both if I really want to stuff it. If you want padding you can pick up a sleeve, but I find the front pocket holds the laptop very securely. Overall, if you like old, quirky hotels over shining glass and steel ones, or a used book shop gives you *almost* the same feeling old churches do, you'll probably dig this bag. 4Fantastic quality that easily beats out bags costing over 4 times as much at my local stores. I LOVE ITI ordered two different bags from this seller and both are an absolute home run. So I will comment on this one.When I went to my local stores looking for a good bag there wasn't much to choose from. They started out around $200 & up for thin leather and horrible layout design.When I found this seller here on amazon I studied the pics VERY closely and ordered this bag. I was BLOWN AWAY by the quality of workmanship and design of this bag.As others have said, upon delivery you know they care about the product, it was in a box with bubble wrap, then the bag was in a plastic bag and that was in a nice drawstring cloth bag, and every buckle was also wrapped as to not scratch the leather.A signed letter of thanks and care was included explaining how the leather would darken over time (it was just slightly lighter than the pics) but still a beautiful brown color.Sadly after two days the awesome leather smell has started to fade (it wasn't strong smelling to begin with, but MMMM did it smell good).The leather is awesome to the touch and even with all the pics posted they do NOT do this bag justice.The zippers all work great, real smooth.I don't haul around my laptop but there is room for a lot of stuff in here ! The bag isn't huge but the design really helps. The full size expanding pocket helps it stay slim until you put stuff in it.BTW 10 pockets in all !If you are considering this bag, buy it. Trust me, bags costing over 4 times this much can't compete with it.Also the strap is pretty wide and very adjustable. I'm 5' 11" and weigh 260 and can wear this cross body easily. 5LOVE THIS BAGLOVE THIS BAG!!!!!!!!!!!! First things first, I have a 17" laptop, which means that it actually measures approx 16" width by 11" length. I have to wiggle and have found a "trick" to make my laptop fit, but I don't like that I have to work that hard to get my laptop into the bag. That being said, it is NOT their fault, but mine, I could have easily gotten their bigger bag, but I wanted this one in particular for the look. SO, all that wiggle waggle I go through every day is my own fault. I just wanted to put this out there for everyone that is wondering this same question as I did when doing research. Sad thing is no one ever posted real measurements in their reviews, so I took a huge leap of faith. Once my laptop is in the bag, there is PLENTY of space for my 5 subject notebook, power cord, mouse, pens, headphones (not the itty bitty ones, but big ones), a pad folio, my ipad, my phone, pens, and a few file folders with plenty of room to spare. The straps are a pain, because you have to buckle and unbuckle all the time. I'm ok with it, because again, I knew this from reviews, so it's on me. It does smell a bit when you first take out of its wrapping, but that wears off in a couple of days. I personally like the smell; smells like real leather, not that chemically leather scent. The leather is supple and very very soft. I have had it for a couple of weeks now and it is even starting to "wear" very nicely. Overall, I am VERY happy to have purchased this bag. 5The leather is beautiful for the priceThis is ALMOST a 5-star bag. The leather is beautiful for the price, described accurately in the description, and I get lots of compliments on it. The one drawback is that the shoulder strap isn't robust enough. Mine almost immediately stretched out so badly that I have to have it on the shortest buckle hole. In addition, the stretching of the strap made it narrow like taffy. Sometimes I find that it has slipped right out of the buckle due to warping and I have to reset it. I really don't want to attach a shoulder strap from some old backpack, but I'm getting close. This is unfortunate for such an otherwise well-constructed and thought out accessory. 4Beware, this is bonded leatherWhile this bag looks good and smells like real leather, one small scratch has revealed that it is indeed bonded leather. I got the bag caught on a small splinter on a door jam and now the bonded leather is peeling back and it looks horrible. it is a shame since I really did like the bag before that happened. 35/5 would buy again5 Stars. Going to Grad school as an 40 year old and was looking for something that was classy, functional and slightly bespoke. This bag met all of those and more. Lots of divided interior pockets. Holds a laptop and legal pads and much more. The bag came extremely well wrapped with obvious care and thought put into how it was delivered. Has a note about care from the maker (Komal is a real dude), which was a nice touch. Color is lighter that the picture. But the note explains how the bag is made, tanned, and uses vegetable oils for curing. Mentions how it will develop a patina and each bag a personal look. Love this bag. Many compliments so far.
