So not only is this helping me out a lot with my computer upgrade, but having a great customer service experience when sometimes you need it, makes this even better. 5Great ram. new life to my macbook pro early 2008 It was not detected on my MacBook pro early 2008, my MacBook become slower than it was with 2GB of RAM. I just about to return the memory kit. Then I decided to reinstall OSX and upgrade to Yosemite with this 4GB ram, then voila!!, it gives my MacBook pro new life again. It runs faster now in Yosemite. I believe there was something wrong with my previous mavericks in my MacBook that makes the ram not detected, solved with clean install to Yosemite. Thanks for the great ram!! I recommended. 5Never Worked I purchased these to help upgrade a macbook I gifted my Mother.. she was never able to get them installed so she brought them and the macbook with her on a recent visit out to Los Angeles. I tried installing them multiple times and the computer would not boot up. Now I don't call myself a computer tech but I have a pretty deep knowledge of how things work and have successfully replaced batteries and upgraded numerous Ram memory chips throughout the years.. It was listed as something that was suppose to work with her model macbook and it did not. Now unfortunately because the purchase was too far back, we are eating the money on them.Very disappointed 1Prompt service and perfect product. This product was essential for updating an old MacBook I had in order to be able to load a newer IOS. It was promptly shipped and had no damage upon its arrival only two days later. The video which they provide a link too would make this a simple installation for someone with little to no experience in hardware repair and upgrading as long as they bought an apple tool kit (these can also be found here on Amazon.).I would recommend this product to anyone who would like to prolong the life of and old MacBook.Also, I will gladly do further business with KomputerBay in the future. 5Perfect for upgrading an old iMac Wow absolutely amazing product. Simple plug n play. Upon recently rebooting an old 2007 iMac that had been collecting dust as a kid surf computer I realized that the antiquated version of OS X on the iMac was soon to be unsupported by internet browsers like Chrome. When I tried to upgrade to OS X El Capitan I couldn't because the iMac only had 1 GB of memory. I went on the apple support website and they have very easy to follow replacement directions for upgrading your memory--make sure you get the exact type of memory card as detailed on that site. I searched Amazon and Komputerbay's MACMEMORY looked to be the best combo of price and ratings so I went for it. Replacing the cards couldn't have been easier--the cards slid right in. Turned the computer on and 20 minutes later was running El Capitan at lightning speed on my 2007 iMac with 4 GB of memory. Product arrived on time and works exactly as described. Couldn't be more satisfied. 5WORKS JUST FINE FOR MY MAC! Well, I don't know how many stars to give something like this... I only know it was pretty easy to put in the computer (cuz my neighbor did it; but I watched!)... and it seems to work just fine. WOULD THAT I COULD GET SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO PLUG INTO MY OWN BRAIN! Because at 68, my head is so full of krap (also definitive, useful information) that the processing speed and retrieval seems a bit bogged down at times. But no! it's only for the computer! (sigh). Anyway, I highly recommend this, and I also like the price. 5Two's a charm I am upgrading my Mid 2007 iMac to 4 Gb of memory. The first set that i received would cause the computer to chime 3 times indicating a memory problem. I did some swapping and determined one of the new 2 Gb sticks had a problem. I contacted Amazon for a resolution and chose the replace item option. In the interim I used an old 1 Gb and the working 2 Gb and the system was fine. Amazon promptly sent replacements and upon receipt, installed the two new 2 Gb sticks. Now the computer would not boot at all. I proceeded to swap the 2 Gb sticks and finally got the iMac to boot with 4 Gb. The whole process was a little unnerving as I have upgraded Mac computers many times before. The resolution was quick and painless but it bothers me that one in each of the sets was defective. The packages were not sealed so I have no idea how or where these sticks come from. Good luck on your upgrade. 3A quick and easy upgrade for a tired iMac! I have an 6-7 year old iMac which came with 1GB of memory installed. It had gotten slow recently as it struggled to deal with the vast amount of graphics that the web can throw at us nowadays. The computer was a backup machine, so it never bothered me that much, and I was somewhat hesitant to update it because I'm a PC guy and cracking open the all-in-one Mac computer was a bit intimidating.Some quick research (thank you YouTube!) showed me how easy it was, and I found this memory upgrade on Amazon and decided to give it a whirl. The memory arrived very quickly and was well protected in shipment. The installation took less than 5 minutes, including the shutdown and reboot, and it did a great job speeding up the aged iMac, extending its life a few more years. 5RAM works great and enabled installation of ElCapitan from SnowLeopard Packaged inside a clamshell which was in turn inside a bubble package, the packaging was acceptable. Had anything heavy fallen on the RAM during transit it would likely have been damaged. The RAM was exactly as described. This is a 4GB kit of SD RAM (2x2GB) 667MHZ PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM (200 pin). This was installed on an IMac (2007-2008 Core2 Duo Intel T7300 processor). On the iMac, the RAM is installed by removing a screw located in the center of the bottom panel and gently removing the metal door. Then pull the ribbon to remove the existing RAM and then install the new ram, and button everything back up. Literally less than 5 minute process. RAM works great and enabled installation of ElCapitan from SnowLeopard. 5A great decision I bought the chips on the off chance they would help my computer's performance, even though I had not really seen any concrete signs that my old 2GB chips had not been enough. I was pleased beyond my wildest expectations. The chips came quickly. Then went in easily. And I have a "new" eight-year old iMac that works better than ever in ways I would never have expected. I wish I had upgraded years ago! 5
