Customer Reviews

Just not worth it.Ordered this as a spare for my OEM version. Looked the same, felt the same. Tried it in the iPhone and a lot of static is generated when rotating the plug in the device. Also the sound cuts in and out when the cable moves. Perhaps I got a defective one but for $15 I can order the real OEM replacement off Bose - which is less than what I paid here.Returned it and won't be getting another. 2Not so good.I thought this item was great when I first connected it to my Bose headset. I did notice that the cord was a smaller gauge wire than the original but, whatever works. Well, the second time I used the headset with this cord, I noticed that the left side of the headset had much lower volume. I touched the volume control switch on the headset and the left speaker started working. I seems that the wire must have come loose inside the switch housing since just jiggling the wire going into the switch makes the sound go off and come on. Not very robust. Will try to return this product at my next opportunity. 2* They input that attaches to the headphones comes out very easily - if the cord gets moderately obstructed in any ...These are for the audio cable cord:* They are not durable at all. The end becomes frayed after relatively limited use.* They input that attaches to the headphones comes out very easily - if the cord gets moderately obstructed in any way and you move, it will come out.* The tip of audio input itself got stuck in my phone. To repair, I will need to remove and replace the headphone input from the phone itself. This has never happened to me before with a pair of headphones.* Two stars only because they do what they are supposed to do when handled very delicately. (They get the sound from point A to point B). The next pair of Bose headphones I buy will rely on bluetooth - precisely because I loathe this cord so much. If I didn't love the headphones themselves, these would never come close to my ears.... 2Do not getSeems like it would be perfect to replace for the Q3 but after barely 2 months the audio became crazy with only going in one ear when the wire is touched. I was really happy when I saw there was a replacement given its difficult to go through the Bose site to get one now but this disappointed me. Now I have to listen to things without moving in order to get it working in both ears. Poor replacement, do not get. 1Works - Probably Not For LongWorks - Probably Not For Long. As many others have noted, the sound of static can be heard. And the part that fits into the phone needs to be wiggled and placed at a certain angle to work. I've bought 2 other replacement cords from other manufacturers over the past year. They do not get placed under stress. They are primarily used for my 45-60 minute car rides back and forth to work with hardly any other useage. No reason that should all be so poorly made and fail so regularly. It is almost time to look for a Bluetooth sound cancelling pair of headphones to get away from junk wires! 1I have purchased 2 or 3 of these headphone cords ...I have purchased 2 or 3 of these headphone cords. I have Bose head phones, and the problem is not with the ear phones. It is with this cord connecting the head phones to my mp3. These cords only last 3-4 months at most. The latest one I purchased is already showing the same signs of failure, i.e. one of the ear phones starts to fade in and out, I hear static at times, and then one side fails completely, so that I can only hear out of one side. Again, it is not a problem with the head phones. It is the cord that is failing after 3 - 4 months. I just got the last one in early August, 2015, and I am starting to experience issues of failure already. I am not going to pay to return it... I will do as before; just throw it out when it fails completely. I use my headphones each day that I walk about 7 miles. I listen to audio books from audible.com, but I will not order from the Seller again! My mistake was in believing that the issue was with just one of these cords! 1Go for the brand name, not these. For the most part, this replacement worked out alright. But after a certain, it just stopped working altogether, without any apparent reason. The cable wasn't that old, I hadn't melted it like another one or anything like that. But in addition to not being totally compatible with my iPad and causing some irritating issues, when it stopped working, it stopped playing one channel, but would play another. Like I could hear the background music of the show I was watching, but not the voices of the characters. And when I tried to talk on the phone, I don't know if anyone could hear me, but I couldn't hear them at all. (I recognize that there is no mic, but when plugged into my iPhone, the speaker mic is used.) I've been buying the brand name ones ever since. Same price and they work better. 2Works Perfectly (with a trivial issue) BUT Annoying Emails from VendorAfter spending $300 for Bose Quiet Comfort 15 headphones some years back I found out my model has been discontinued. Discontinued as well was the headphone/iPhone accessory by Bose leaving no legitimate option for millions of 15 owners???. So, this item looked like a good replacement and I could always return it.I received the package promptly by US Mail, and it looked and felt exactly as my original headphone cord in every way (and was even labeled Bose). The first thing I noticed was the silver retaining clip was pushed into its opening and did not spring out to hold the cord tightly to the headphones like it is supposed to (minus one star) but yet the fit was perfect and no way will the assembly ever fall out since it plugs into the headphones firmly and it's a tight fit. Rather than dealing with sending it back for a hidden non-functional trivial issue I decided to keep it.In all my testing the first day, everything works perfectly (e.g. the microphone, audio, volume, phone calls, etc.) And you would never know this is a knockoff because it is EXACTLY like the original, so close I thought this might be a discontinued leftover vs. a knock-off. I'm crossing my fingers on trouble-free continued use. But, "It Is" has been barraging me with emails, FIVE the day before yesterday, THREE last night, asking me to write a good review (for a 50% promo discount on the second batch of emails). Of course it's all in broken English with grammar and typos? everywhere. For these annoying emails (one reminder to review would have been fine) I subtract a star (and if I get any more today, this will go down to one star). 3Functional, but hardly stellarThis product is a functional solution for anyone whose original OEM cord sustained some wear and tear over the years (as mine did). It meets the minimal requirements that I was looking for: (1) It was compatible with my Bose QC15 headphones (2) The audio/music quality would be comparable to the old OEM I had. Apart from a slight static sound that occurs when rotating the headphone jack while it is plugged into my iPhone, this item is satisfactory on both counts. However, I do miss the mic, and especially the volume controller, that my original cord came with. I still find myself using my left hand to feel for the volume control only to realize it is sadly no longer there. This item is okay, but I would suggest looking for an alternative model that includes a volume controller if you are in the habit of making use of that function in your original cable - having to adjust to the newly limited functionality is more of an adjustment than you might suspect, and it inevitably makes this item feel slightly disappointing at times. 3Worked great before it was too easily guillotined.Bought this to replace the OEM cord for my Bose QC-2s that I've owned for many years. The OEM connector pin became a bit bent and only one side of the headphones worked. I ordered this replacement cord and it arrived within just a couple days. I plugged it in and it worked great! Felt "thinner" and less robust than the OEM but it worked so I was happy. But sadly, just a few hours after installing it, I set my iPad on a small ledge with the headphones connected. I didn't place the iPad well, and it slipped of the ledge and dropped about 8-10 inches onto a tile floor. I had recently removed the protective cover on the iPad so it was "bare." While the iPad was undamaged by the short fall, it landed on the cord on its edge and guillotined the cord into two parts. Wow, really? The cord was so thin and non-robust that the iPad itself (with no razor sharp edges) cut the cord in two with only a short fall. Ultimately, my fault for not placing the iPad well. But, I would never have imagined that an iPad could guillotine a headset cord. So, buyer beware. The cord works as advertised, but is not very robust. 2
