Customer Reviews

Earcups good, headband solution bad - go with another supplierThe earcup replacements are fine - but that's the easy part. The headband replacement is very bad, and I highly recommend going with another alternative. Bose does not make it easy to replace the headband, but this solution is insufficient. The supplied replacement is not padded (so don't lose the original padding that came with your headset) and does not fit in the original side clamps that Bose put on the headset. Other supplies will provide replacement clamps to keep their bulkier solutions in place. In this case, there are no replacement clamps provided, so the end result is not very appealing.Bottom line, I strongly recommend going another route if you are looking to get a headband replacement in addition to the earcups.2They also provided a handy tool to make it extremely easy to tuck the new ear pieces under the hold ...OK, they fit my BOSE QC perfectly and were very simple to put in. No instructions, but I did not need them. They also provided a handy tool to make it extremely easy to tuck the new ear pieces under the hold down tabs. I attached a pic of the tool and the way I used it to push the "rigid" part of the ear piece flat so it would easily slide under the tab on the side of the QC ear cup. If you do that for all the tabs, it won't come apart. Just what I wanted to get back to a useful headset. BTW, these are also just a little plusher than the originals.5The zippered cover for the headband is a great, simple solution for the deteriorating old bandThis fit my Bose QC2 perfectly. The yellow tool is definitely a time saver for both removal of the old ear foam and installation of the new foam. It would have been helpful to have a single picture or diagram of how the plastic tabs "catch" the backing, but other reviewers mentioned them and once you take it off, it's obvious. Spend time going around the ear piece a couple of times when installing the replacement to be sure all the "tabs" got engaged. The zippered cover for the headband is a great, simple solution for the deteriorating old band. Hint: zip up the replacement cover a couple of times before you try to do it on the headband. Seems to loosen it up and make it easier to stretch over the old headband. Do this removal/installation on a paper towel - the flaking pieces are gunky and get over everything in the process. Great product! I ordered another one for our other Bose QC2. The headsets are still working great and this kit makes them usable again!5Great for the priceBought these to replace a set of worn out cushions on my Bose Quiet Comfort 2 headphones. If you've never done it before, the process should take you five minutes or less to complete. This is actually my third set of cushions for these headphones. I understand that there are several videos out there on how to replace the cushions, so I won't bother with giving instructions. As for the cushions, while they aren't as soft as I remember the originals being (bought my headset nearly 10 years ago), the fit and finish are good. The materials appear to be decent and should last me a few more years. The rings fit snugly under the clips on the inside of the ear pieces. As for the other pieces that come in the shipment, only the yellow stick would be needed, to assist with the removal and replacement of the cushions. The red Velcro strip appears to be a gift, to be used for wrapping the headphone cables when you're done with them. The plastic fish appears to be alternate solution for the same purpose.5Made my Bose headset usable again!I knew the pads of my Bose headset were deteriorating, but I only understood how much when the black pigment of the original pads was getting stuck to my ears and crumbling over my shirt - a very embarassing flight it was.THere are various replacement pads out there, but I like these especially because there's a replacement for the head band. OK, you can't remove the original pad but this is a great work around and it looks and feels perfect.I had some difficulty to remove the original ear pads, but then I realized I had to pull more than I thought. Eventually I figured it out. Some hassle aligning the new pads so they don't peel off, but a couple of minutes and they were in place and never came off again.5Almost comparable and cheaper alternativeDon't trust the reviews about these not fitting and falling out. They fit just fine; just the way the earphones were designed make it difficult to replace the ear pads. This would occur with genuine Bose earpads as well. All you have to do is inspect the small plastic tabs on the outside of the earphones and make sure all of them engaged the earpad ring properly. One problem that I did have is the sticky strips on the side of the black mats were somewhat stubborn. The whole sticky pad and sticky cover (white part that's supposed to peel off the pad) would peel off the black mat together instead of peel apart. The reason why this is happening is that the adhesion between the sticky pad and sticky cover is stronger than the adhesion between the sticky pad and the black mat. What I did was put my finger on one corner of the sticky pad as it was peeling up so that the adhesion between my finger and the sticky pad was stronger than the sticky pad to the sticky cover and that worked out great. Then I stuck that corner back onto the black mat. These earpads work great and are a good cheaper substitute to the original. They are thicker and stiffer than my original but that may just be because they're not broken in like my originals. There is a difference in passive sound dampening but it's a very small difference and doesn't bother me.5Perfect Fit, High Quaility and Great PriceI think these are great and like that they are 1/3 the cost of the overpriced Bose replacement ear pads. They went on easily and seem to be of as good quality as the original ones. When I sat these side by side with my old, original Bose ear pads they were slightly thinner and firmer then the old originals but this made no difference in fit or performance for me. In fact, these new ones felt better. Following installation of these pads I pulled and tugged on them within reason and they seemed durable and not prone to tearing and breaking. Also last week I wore them on a trip through two three hour flights, loud airports, long drives, etc. They felt fine and sealed out noise perfectly and didn't show any signs of wear or damage. The reason I mention in this review my perceived durability of these ear pads is I read some reviews where people said they tore during or after installation, had trouble getting the double sided tape off, etc. which concerned me. But after taking a chance and trying these ear pads for myself I see no issues at all. I suspect the people saying these things just weren't able to install them correctly which in itself is surprising as installation is as about as simple as falling off a log.5This set is nice in that other than the cord it is just ...The Bose Quiet Comfort headphones are one of those things in life that are worth spending money on to keep up rather than replace altogether. This is the second replacement ear cushion set I have had to order. The first set was the cushions only and they were junk. This set is nice in that other than the cord it is just about a total rebuild as far as what you can do yourself.A big plus to this set is it includes the dust filters for inside the headphone cups.My biggest problem with this repair kit is the headband cover. It attaches by means of a zipper which is just this side of impossible to put on and zip up. Then when I did finally get it zipped up the other end of the zipper came undone. I here there is a new product on the market that replaces these aggravating zippers- VELCRO.Other than that this is a really good rehab kit for the headphones.. The ear cushions are very comfortable.4You wont be dissapointed if you need replacements.I have had my bose quiet comfort 15 headphones for just over 3 years now, and have worked flawlessly throughout that time, but after 3 years the ear pads have obviously seen better days. But being my cheap self I didn't want to spend money on replacements if the earphones still functioned, and functioned well, but one day I walked into my room and found my headphones ripped to shreds by my labrodor puppy. (Tragic I know)The pads were torn off, and ripped into a million pieces. Sooo I decided to finally get my replacement pads from Geekria. I just received the replacements two days ago, and I must say, they are amazing quality for being so cheap!! they are almost as soft as my broken in old pads, and they are made out of fantastic quality materials. if I didn't know they were from a different company, I would have thought bose sent me replacement pads themselves. The install of these are made as simple as possible with the little tool they send you with your package. You'll understand why when you receive them. The screens are common sense to install with the provided adhesive that comes on them, and the tool crimps the pads into place perfectly. Took me all of two minutes to install. Couldn't have gotten a better deal as far as quality and ease. Now I have my headphones back to their flawless state, and good as new, thanks to these replacements. Highly recommend.5Tricky to install but not Geekria's faultOverall very satisfied with this kit. The earpieces appear to be EXACT replacements for the originals. The headband is a zippered sleeve that fits over the existing headband pad.Replacing the earpads is not easy nor straightforward. Don't be in a hurry. They will eventually snap into place, just keep working on it. It's how Bose designed the earpad attachment, not the fault of Geekria's product. The headband sleeve fits snugly; the trick is to be sure to start in the correct position! You will not be able to move it once it's zipped up. (That's good.) If you miss on the first try, unzip and adjust the starting point. Be sure the zipper is at the very top, not against your head! You can order this product with confidence that it will fit your headphones properly and extend their lifespan.4
