Really nice, slim laptop bag that fits an Alienware 17 R4This laptop perfectly fits my Alienware 17 R4. Regular 17" bags will not fit this laptop due to a large edge that is on the back. It necessitates an 18" computer bag. It's a pretty simple bag, but I have enough room for my laptop, my trackball mouse, my charging cable, and a surge protector I occasionally need. Of course, if you have a laptop that needs an 18" bag, I'm going to bet it's pretty heavy, so each item you add in will just make it heavier of course. The strap on this is nice and sturdy. I like how thin the bag is too. When walking through busy places, for example, several times in recent months that I ended up having to lug this laptop to the hospital, I was able to keep it nice and securely close to me without feeling like the strap might break or anything of that nature. If you frequently travel alone, and bring along a small rolling suitcase, I would not recommend using the attachment velcro to hold your laptop to the suitcase handle. I tried this once, just for the sake of seeing how well it worked, and the weight of my laptop basically pulled the velcro apart and it knocked over my suitcase. No damage was done, but just be mindful of that if you have light luggage in a small bag. Not the best combo. It is a nice feature, nonetheless, and I can't fault the bag itself for that.5WILL FIT 17" GAMING LAPTOPS!!Been searching long and hard ( ) for a laptop bag/backpack that is large enough to house my laptop, an Asus ROG G752. Bought 3 different bags from Best Buy in hopes it would fit. They all ended up going back. So I went on Amazon and found this one. And finally, SUCCESS! It fits just right!I've just got it earlier today so I haven't put it through any sort of stress test yet, but it appears to be very well made. Zippers are good quality. Shoulder strap buckles are metal and feel very durable.Best part about this bag is the size. Not only does it fit my monstrosity of a laptop but also fits the charger, my mouse, a gaming mouse pad, and probly would fit a gaming headset as well. And doesn't feel bulky at all.5 STARS. We'll see how long it lasts. If it doesn't I'll come back and edit this post but so far so good.5Superb bag at a great price! I'll preface this by saying I use this every single day, so it's getting a workout! I take my 17" laptop to work every day along with my cord to charge it, my cellphone charger, two notepads and an Ipad Mini and they ALL fit in this bag! It is absolutely the best laptop bag I have ever purchased because it is simple but incredibly flexible in use! I can take my entire day in one bag and not have to carry around a bulky briefcase to boot. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that in it's daily use, some of the seams have started to wither and come apart. I've since sewn them back, but I'd recommend to the manufacturer to increase it's strength so durability doesn't suffer. Because this is an AWESOME bag! 4Had for years, still love itI've had this bag for *years* and love it. It's lasted through all sorts of trips - it holds a lot of stuff. The shackle/clips on the old shoulder strap finally began to wear out so I just purchased a new bag after countless years. I considered other brands and bags, but I've come to love this bag and all the different pockets. The strap on the back of the bag is now something I would demand for any laptop bag. This stores my laptop, writing notebook, whatever book I'm reading (or Kindle) in the large pocket. The zipper pocket on the outside holds my laptop charger, phone charger, pens, business card holders, company name badge, phone battery backup, any about 20 other little things I carry with me. I live out of a suitcase and this bag. For the price, it cannot be beat (the Amazon Basics bag is similar but the zippers on those pockets don't go down as far to allow you to see/clean out the bottom as easily - that bag also lacks the mesh sling pouch in the bottom that is good for storing laptop accessories like mouse, charger, laser pointer, etc).5Well constructed and good for large laptops/desktop replacementPlease keep in mind I have only had the bag for a week and I will add additional updates.Searching high and low for a large carrying case for my Acer Helios 500 (16.9 x 1.5 x 11.7" almost 9lbs) finally brought me to two choices: a backpack and this one. I went with the latter since, at my age, walking into work with a large backpack looking like a 5 year old on their first day of school was out of the question. The pockets are sufficiently large and still have a little extra room for my computer in the main compartment. I am also able to fit the power brick, mouse and a game controller with no bulging issues in the zippered side or secondary pocket. While I don't have large over-sized headphones I do believe they would fit with no problems. One complaint is that the pockets for pens, small items and USB drives is of a very thin nylon material and the quality does not seem to be as good as the rest of the bag. I can see the stitching of this area coming undone very easily after some extended use.I do like the velcro pocket on the front of the bag. The pocket itself is as large as the font flap of the bag and provides quick access to anything that you might need in a hurry, such as your phone, wallet or maybe even a tablet. The padding is excellent, although because of the large size and weight of the computer that I have, I doubt the bag would protect it from a fall. However, an occasional light bump into a table or door frame the bag should be able to easily protect the computer. The handle is stitched well and, so far, are showing no immediate signs of fraying or tearing. The clasps are made from a lower quality metal and I can see them failing eventually (due to the aforementioned weight of my particular laptop) but get the job done for now.Overall the bag is worth the money and should fit most of the larger laptops/desktop replacement computers. I hope that in the long term it will live up to my initial rating.UPDATE 02/14/2019: I have purchased a pair of Logitech G430 headphones and found that they do fit rather snugly in the secondary or side pocket (along with the other items listed previously). I know that these are probably not the largest headphones out there so other individuals may have a tough time finding the room for all of their items. This is not constitute a reduction in my rating, it is just a circumstance of my particular setup. A smaller pair of headphones or earbuds would still fit easily with no issues.4Do not let its slim looks deceive you, this bag can hold a LOTThis bag can hold a LOT. It fits Acer Predator 17.3" laptop (PH517) which is roughly the same size as Alianware 17" R4. This bag has an acceptable amount of padding on all sides including the bottom. What I love about Everki is their quality. I have been using one of their backpacks going on 5 years now, my laptop still looks like new and has always been protected. I travel for a living and have lugged that thing around the globe (literally). Since I carry this while working, I needed a messenger type bag that looked more professional than a backpack. This bag fits the bill. The only thing going in the main compartment is the laptop. The expanding front pocket I have fit 1 cased iPad, 1 small flash light, wallet, and a bulky set of headsets (david clark one-x), bulky sunglass case, and other small items. The laptop stays well protected in its center compartment alone while all your regular use items fit in the front pocket which allows enough room for bulk. There seems to be enough clearance between the laptop and the top zippers as well. The double zippers, and material all seem like excellent quality.I tried 2 other cheaper cases on amazon and they were total junk (Ytonet and Volher). Plus, I had to add padding on the bottom of the other cases. They were also too wide to drag down airline isles while on the top of the suitcase. Another awesome thing about this bag is the suitcase handle strap. It is made just the right width so it stays stable on the suitcase handle, unlike the other ones that too wide, thus fit too loosely on the suitcase. This one is just right.5Good but could be betterThis item fits my laptop Dell M6800 dimensions: 16.4" wide Depth 10.65" Thickness front 1.3" back 1.46"it fits even with my laptop having a sleeve on it, Kamor 17.3 inch Water-resistant Neoprene Laptop Sleeve Case (Product Dimensions - 17.51" (l) x12.40" (w) x 1.34" (h) / 44.5X31.5X3.5(LXWXH), Fits Devices - 16.7" (l) x 11.61" (w) x 1.38" (h) / 42.5X29.5X3.5 (LXWXH) )But the main concern is that none of these laptop bags these days are sturdy and rigid as some of the older Swiss Gear stuff, from 10-15 years ago, I do not know why they do not have that reinforced plastic bezel around giving rigidity (you see this on a lot of products especially luggages, the outside looks like round bead 1/8" and inside about 3/8 to 1/2" flat about 1/16" thick) I mean really would it add that much weight to have it on the main compartment? and how about some rubber feet/pads? these things are meant to be moved around and placed, how can someone be assured with this especially with the sales pitch of lifetime warranty?Otherwise so far its pretty good product4Great bag for larger laptops! Love that the padding is thick around the narrow bottom and not just the broad sides. After all, that s where you re likely to need the protection if dropped! Lots of space for cords, mouse, etc. I like that the front pocket opens all the way so you can see contents and aren t digging around for them. Padded shoulder strap a necessity for larger laptops and this one is contoured to fit well and doesn t slip. This was the only one of three bags I tried that actually fit my 17.3 inch Lenovo Ideapad laptop. Pleased with this purchase! 5Great lightweight laptop bagThis reviews applies to the Everki Advance Laptop Bag - Briefcase, Fits up to 18.4-Inch (EKB407NCH18) which I bought to hold a 17.3" MSI gaming laptop. I bought the 18.4" case because I wanted it to hold my laptop with the mouse dongle installed. It would barely fit in the next size smaller without the dongle plugged in so I opted for this one which works great. It is a fairly lightweight case with good padding and the corners are protected but I would think that if you dropped it off a table and it hit on a corner you might still have a problem but nothing short of a hard shell or a case with metal reinforced corners is going to prevent that.It has a strap on the back so you can fit it over the handle on a wheeled suitcase and the strap has a velcro fastener in the center to secure it firmly. It is also small and light enough to fit inside a standard carry on suitcase which I often do when I have the space available inside. This case has a separate zippered pocket on one side that will hold the power brick, travel mouse, lots of cords and various other items in pockets with room for full size folders and papers. There are also pockets for a cell phone, pens, and smaller items you want to keep organized. The other side has a pocket with a velcro closure which is handy for boarding passes, etc that you need quick access to. Padding protection is good on both sides without being bulky. The zipper is large and seems durable.5Convenient if you don't need to protect a laptop. This bag is *okay*. Not great. I'd say it's good for *holding* electronics, but maybe not so great at transporting them securely. The biggest problem with this bag is that it has *zero* padding or cushioning where it's needed most in any laptop bag - on the bottom. That means that whenever you slip your computer into the laptop pocket, it smacks against the ground beneath it with no cushion. It also means that whenever you drop your bag down on the ground, guess what takes the full brunt of the impact? That's right - the bottom edge of your laptop. After six months of light usage, the edge of my laptop has visible dents and the two bottom corners of the bag are worn away to reveal the corners of my laptop. The padded part of the shoulder strap is not adjustable - it doesn't slide along the strap at all and is fixed in place. This severely limits your ability to adjust the placement of the bag against your body for comfort. If you want something light, cheap, and small for an ultrabook, this is it. If you want something that protects its contents, you're on your own. I haven't really found anything that does the job.2Perfect for Dell XPS 18I recently purchased a Dell XPS 18 which is sort of like a tablet on steroids :). With that purchase I got a sleeve but found that it just didn't fit my needs. My old laptop bag (which was for a 17.5" laptop was not big enough so I went in search of something that would fit not only the computer but also the wireless keyboard and mouse. Found one on the same site that I purchased the computer but it was $99 and I was not ready to spend that much if I didn't have to. Searched on Amazon and found this one and found that it is perfect! With the option of Amazon Prime it arrived very quickly (kudos to Amazon as always!!). Fits the computer perfectly as well as having another pocket which I can bring along keyboard, mouse, power supply and various other items that I find necessary when I travel away from home. The bag itself is lightweight but sufficiently padded. There are regular handles but it also comes with a shoulder strap which I find absolutely necessary. No, it isn't fancy but as someone else mentioned why would you want to advertise an expensive computer? Don't hesitate on this bag...you will certainly be pleased.5Respect for EverkiAs others have said, this bag is attractive and well-laid out. Lots of pockets, a handy outside pocket, and a passthrough strap for your roll-aboard handle. I've been using it steadily now for about a month and a half; steadily meaning 3-4 days a week.I opened it this morning and found that the lining is separating a the top seam. Upon inspection it's apparent that they've skimped on material and there isn't much material (like 4 threads) beyond the stitching. Not shocking then that the lining simply pulls away from the binding at the top of the compartment.Kind of a bummer, because I really liked how compact this bag is. I had planned to return it for a replacement, hoping that this was merely a lemon. Sadly, my return period has expired and by the time I return the bag at my expense and they give me a partial refund it's not worth my time to return it. I'll have to repair the bag and use it for as long as I can.Hope others are having better luck with their bags.***************************Update: Everki saw my review here and responded to me directly. They've replaced the bag, and that merits respect. However, my work in Quality Improvement drives my admiration. While Everki was interested in addressing my complaint, their real passion was figuring out what failed and why. This is the commitment to long term improvement that is sorely needed by so many organizations.Everything that I said before about the nice design, etc. remains true. I'll add that they Everki really cares about the quality of their products.5
