Great When Its Working ... Price IncreasedGreat USB stick when it works ... some in the past have failed ... the stick can no longer be recognized unless you format the whole thing thus wiping out your dataAlso the price went up ... you would think the price would go down since many have failed4Bought 2, both failed after 1-2 monthsI've owned dozens of USB drives and this is the worst one I've ever had. Bought 2 of them, first one failed after 1 month, second one failed after 2 months. The positive reviews probably come from people who only used it a couple times and then wrote the review, because when I first bought it and tested it it performed really well.PROS: Very fast. Very reliable for first 1-2 months.CONS: Fails after 1-2 months.Edit: I contacted Corsair and they sent me a replacement drive. The replacement was dead on arrival.1Fast and great when it works... Bought this again since the old (2 years and 2 days) stopped working. Have started a warranty process with Corsair three days ago for the old one and not even an answer. 1Great USB 3.0 Flash Drive that needs better external markingsI am a fan of Corsair USB 3.0 Flash Voyager Flash Drives. They perform well and I rather like the rubber water resistant cladding of the drive, even if the detachable cap is sometimes easy to lose track of. The one thing that I do object to, however, is that all the Corsair drives of this type are all the same color and, worse, Corsair never labels a drive with what size it is. So, if you have four drives, of 16, 32, 64 and 128GB respectively, there is no way to tell which is which. Would it be so difficult to imprint the GB capacity on the rubber exterior? Would it be such a challenge to make each size a different color? As it is, I have to tie different colored ties or strings or whatever to each drive to keep track of which one is which. In any case, that annoyance aside, these are fine USB 3.0 flash drives, and I have gotten a lot good use out of the several that I own, even if I have to invent my own identification system.4Strong and thick compositionI ordered this little guy to replace my 4-year old USB drive (same brand, same style) and all I can say it''s that It's as good and strong as its old counterpart, only than faster.I must recognize that I might be a little paranoid and although the government may or may not read my Amazon reviews, I know for sure that Murphy's Laws "agents" will visit me from time to time; nonetheless my Corsair's rubbed thickness makes me feel secure because I can certainly feel my data is well protected from physical threats such as when I go around the city with my backpack without an umbrella, or when I'm a bit clumsy and from time to time drop the drive unintended.5Very fast transfer but doesn't always connectThis is an excellent usb stick and with its great capacity and 3.0 transfer speed you might think there would be nothing unsatisfactory. But unfortunately, there is. Often, it only connects as though it were plugged into a usb 2.0 port when in fact you have it in a 3.0 port. As a result you might spend a lot of time waiting for transfers that should be faster but are slowed by the fact that the transfer is occurring at 2.0 rather than 3.0 speed. For those of you unacquainted with the difference, 3.0 has a transfer speed of 10x faster than 2.0. When I'm constantly transferring files greater than 3gb in size this can be very irritating and time consuming. But most of the time it does connect as 3.0 and nothing goes wrong. This is a great product for the price and the rubber grip exterior is great.4Slip in productionI use to swear by these drives. I own over five of them and have not had one fail until I purchased the latest 64 GB. There has been a slip in quality in these drives for sure. After a week, the clear plastic that displays the light popped out! After a month, the blue tip on the cover fell off. A week later, the drive stopped working altogether! I know there is at least one lemon in production, but man, this was a shock. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and replace the bad one, but after that, I'll need to find another brand.2Corsair is definitely the way to goThese are great and reasonably priced with a 5 year warranty. I got a number of these to use as USB boot devices for home and office. For work, they're used exclusively for imaging computers. At home, I have them for both computer imaging and for booting Acronis for backup / restore. They are immediately recognized and identified by a large range of hardware and operating systems, including Linux.I DO have a couple set aside for file portability, etc., but don't use them much in that way. They do perform very well in that capacity.5They are two big (wide) and they just don't last. Don't risk you data on these.I have owned a few of these of various sized from 8 GB to 128 GB. When I first started using them I liked them, but now not so much. First minor thing, they are wider than most USB sticks, and they tend to partially block an adjacent USB slot making it hard to use both at the same time. The worst problem is that they don't last. I used them a lot and they all break after about a year of use. The problem, I think, is that the soft shell allows the circuit card on the inside to flex, and eventually you get a cracked solder joint and the unit fails. I have been lucky, and been able to twist or flex the unit to get a temporary contact and copy the data on the stick before throwing it away. This design is totally useless. But a brand with a solid shell and a good cap.1A++++ Survived the wash...My son has ran this through the wash an several occasions, and he reports that it works perfectly. Imagine that5Corsair makes good products all aroundCorsair makes good products all around. I like this armored line of drives. Very easy to grasp. Bench tests show about advertised speeds and real world tests put it on par with the best of comparably priced competitors. I have a lot of flash drives and these and the red Corsair GT are my favorite drives. I believe you could drop one of these from the top of a high-rise and it wouldn't hurt it - seriously. I like the red GT better because they are bigger for my meaty paw.5
