Customer Reviews

Yes its a bit large, but only as large as it needs to beThis thing is great. Is is a tad on the bulky side but no larger than it needs to be in order to hold a few usefully sized tools. An excellent balance of size and functionality I think. The sides of the cell phone pocket are elastic, and the pocket is deeper than most modern phones are thick, so the pocket nicely conformed to snugly fit my phone despite it being wider than the CLC spec of that pocket. CLC site says approx 2.5"W, my phone case is 2.875"W, and it looks like the pocket would still expand to slightly higher than 3"W. My phone is a HTC EVO 4G LTE w/ 4.7"diag screen which was big before the Note showed up. The pocket would hold my phone with a bulkier case, but maybe not a Note. The height of the pocket is such that the edge of my phone sticks out just enough to not muffle the speaker. My phone is 5.375"H. With the flap closed there is still room for a slightly taller phone. It is also enough room for a headphone cable to easily fit with a right angle plug. A straight plug fits too because of the way the flap is cut narrower at the top but it is marginal on my phone as the flap puts pressure on the plug in a bad way but other phones may fit better. The inside front and back of the pocket have a little padding with a nice soft fabric to go against the screen. The front pocket does not have any elastic, but it is just wide enough to hold side-by-side both a multitool and a 8-pc folding hex key set (with metal frame only, plastic frames were all too bulky to fit). The front pocket is deep enough that I put a stubby bit holder on the bottom of it and the multitool and hex keys fit on top. Total dimensions of what I fit in the front pocket are 2.25"W x 5.5"H x 0.625"D. Either my Leatherman Wave or original SwissTool fit well.In the middle pockets fit a small screw driver, 0.625dia handle 5" total length, could fit up to a 6" length. The other middle pocket I fit a sharpie and a pen, you can fit a third writing utensil in that pocket if you really try but its tight. There is a gap between the two middle pockets, that while not an actual pocket, can also fit a pen or pencil. With my phone and all the tools in there the flap closes to halfway between the minimum and maximum that the Velcro allows, so there is nice adjustability for longer or shorter tools while still keeping the flap snug. The flashlight loop is pretty self-explanatory and tight at the 0.75"dia of my flashlight. Anything wider wouldn't fit. The keyring clip is plastic and probably will break eventually but the fabric loop it attaches at seems solid so that could be easily replaced by a metal keyring clip. The initial reaction from those who have commented on it has been something like "is that an 80s vintage cell phone?" but they are nonetheless impressed when they see inside. I am told it also looks great next to my CLC impact driver holster, I just wish that holster had the belt clip too.A nice product that I am very happy with. If you think it is too big or small there are certainly other options for different phones and more or less tools. For my needs it turned out perfect. Goldilocks likes it tooSummary of my kit, loaded pouch is 1 lb 13 ozPhone (HTC EVO 4G LTE)Multitool (Leatherman Wave or SwissTool)8pc folding hex key set (1"W x 4"H x 0.875"D)Stubby bit holder (1"dia x 1.5"L, in bottom of front pocket)Screwdriver (0.625dia handle 5" total length)SharpiePenPencilFlashlight (0.75"dia)I hope this helps you make a well informed decision on the product either way. Enjoy. Or not.5Just What I Was Looking ForThis cell phone/tool holder is sturdier than I expected, and has two secure options for attaching to belt or waistband. I use the sturdy metal clip, but there is a wide belt loop available as well. I use this mainly to carry small items I like to keep close at hand while gardening or working around our property, that I used to carry with limited success in pockets. Aside from my iPhone 6, I keep my leatherman, a stylus pen, a small cutting tool, and a small pair of scissors that I find handy, within easy reach, and I use the the loop at the side for a marking pen. I am not using the plastic key clip on the front...yet. My only concern is the durability of the clip over time, as it is plastic, but so far it appears that it would work well. I think that if there is a weakness at all, it would be with the clip, as I haven't had much luck with plastic clips, but it is low profile and since I probably won't use it, it will be fine for me. I love the design of the flap that holds everything securely in place. It is tapered in over the top of my cell phone so that it doesn't block the microphone or speaker which is handy as I like to listen to music or audiobooks and there is easy access to the earphone port if I need it. My stylus pen is roughly the length of a long gel pen, and while the case holds it snugly so I don't lose it, I can grab it quickly without having to lift the flap. The inside of the cell phone pocket and the underside of the flap is lined with a soft material that has a suede feel to it, but I assume is microfiber, an unexpected and nice touch for the price, and is paired with sturdy stitching all round so it should last a long time. The velcro closure is larger than I expected, and it won't easily come undone accidentally. The overall profile is compact and unobtrusive. It gets the job it was meant to do done, and does it very well. I give this compact belt phone/tool holder a solid five stars and I highly recommend it.5Just the right size for EDC items, I love it!Finally found the right solution for my EDC items! I tend to carry a variety of tools on me at all times for various situations, and I was getting tired of have several different holsters on my belt or stuffed pockets in order to carry it all. I didn't want anything terribly large and awkwardly noticeable to replace all that either, though. I tried one of the 4"x7" rectangular zippered cases you will see a lot of when searching for cases like this, but it was just too big for my purposes and felt awkward (I still kept it because it is a great addition to my BOB thanks to the Molle straps). Anyway, this case turns out to be just the right size to hold my Gerber Suspension plier tool, pocket knife, flashlight, tactical pen, and a couple other odds and ends, with room still to spare! It feels very comfortable on my belt, not too bulky or cumbersome. I wear dressy clothes to work, and I still don't feel uncomfortable having this on my belt, and I'm seeing more and more people having cases like this even in the professional environment. The fact that I had to order it as an add-on item was probably the only negative, but I understand the purpose of this since it is a rather small item to ship for free. Just find some other cool gear or a gift you need to buy anyway and throw this thing in your cart as well, you won't regret it! :)5Well designed, poorly crafted. The pouch is nice and helps to hold my most used hand tools on the job, I don t use it for a phone. However, it doesn t hold its shape after a few days, it sags and then the belt clip will slide out of your pockets, but will stay on the belt. I haven t used it on any work suspenders, but I have used it on my utility belt. The front will still sag from the weight of the tools, because there is no solid backer plate sewn in to hold its shape. 4Perfect Solution!I work in a factory as a controls engineer, so I carry around my laptop all over the place. This leaves me with little room for tools. I honestly can't think of a better tool holster for what I carry. This thing is amazing. I't's been super durable and very reliable in the factory setting. The belt clip is reinforced for durability, so it holds onto your belt REALLY well. It clips on and off a belt very easily, so you can have the tools wherever you need them at the time, at your waist or in front of you on a table. Honestly, I was VERY impressed with this pouch when I started using it, because I was worried when I was looking for the right solution. Couldn't be happier. It's worth it, trust me.As for what it can hold, I have two small, Phillips and standard, screwdrivers, a Leatherman Surge, a telescoping magnet, Sharpie pen marker, metric hex keys 3mm-6mm, 6ft/2m tape measure, a 6 inch scale, two industrial panel door keys, a pair of wire cutters/strippers, a mini-mag light in the side loop and a small 400 lumen pencil light in the bottom pouch.5epic pouch!I use the large pouch for my 11 in 1 multi tool, pouched with the handle and shank side by side. The 2 small slots my sharpy and my ink pen, and in the outer sleeve, my none contact voltage detector. I use the snap to hold vendor keys, security keys, or any other temporary key given to me to gain access to the job sight and the such, I always keep them their because they constantly and annoyingly jingle when ever I'm walking or,reach into the pouch, or doing anything really, making it specially difficult to forget I have them when I'm leaving the job site and need to return the keys. Also that large loop on the side can hold any screw driver in your kit, if they're medium or small, it can hold 2. I'm notorious for keeping a long heavy beater flat head along with a thin long precision flat head in this loop together ( I call one the enforcer, and the other special forces). I'm left handed and wear this pouch on my right. I recently started working in another company, some of the call me " The Samurai" because I'll use my right hand to uncross them( keeping them from snagging on each other) as I pull the driver out I need in an unintended drawing motion.5Cell Phone/Multitool holder.Good: Holds 2 Cell phones, Perm marker, reg Pen. My 1st one lasted 1 yr.Bad: My second one is only about 3 months old, and as with the 1st one, the belt loop fastener has Ripped.and the Velcro Flap only works for about a month than just flops around and Pens fling out.3Great product - Read my review I was looking for a belt pouch that could hold a few tools. . I decided this was the right one for me. It is the perfect size and the cover flap does a great job of protecting everything from moisture if it rains. The flap also keeps things from falling out which is great as well. This is the perfect size for me. I purchased the CLC cell phone and tool holder at the same as I carry a lot of different things. The CLC is the perfect size for a sell phone and a few more tools. Both of these have flaps that protect your items from weather and prying eyes. If you are into EDC I recommend both of them. The CLC will hold the cell phone and a flashlight on the outside as well. The CLC has a total of 5 expandable compartments while the Clip-Pockit XL only has 4 but they are larger.I highly recommend both of these whether for EDC or for your work !!! 5Velcro fails quicklyWorks for iPhone X with an otter box defender. Fits, but tight. This is my second only because I needed one quickly and did not shop. Will not buy again, but tough to find a phone holster that holds a smartphone plus a couple of small items and not the size of a fanny pack. Can t really carry anything else other than a key and smart phone with this. Velcro is junk. Velcro works when new at a barely acceptable level. Used my first one with the flap, flapping around. Had a small pocket knife, but kept falling out because the flap Velcro does not function. Finally ripped and bought another. Will buy something else in a couple months. The designers must be half wits or old and irrelevant. Seems like most of these products are made for flip phones, which 0.1% of the population own. Keep looking.2Will hold enough tools for most maintenance tasksUPDATE: pictures addedThis is a fantastic maintenance tool pouch. I do machine maintenance for a top tier auto part assembler, and I can go over a week without needing any tools other than what I carry in this. In this pouch, I can comfortably fit:Allen wrenches4 thin, flat wrenches2 precision screwdrivers2 larger screwdriversDiagonal cutters8" crescent wrench6" channel locksSmall breaker bar for allensZip tie packTo do so, I had to cut off the top flap. Also, I use the belt clip exclusively, and after the first year of use I had to reinforce that clip with a zip tie. But of course this goes on and off my belt a dozen times a day, so that doesn't surprise me, and the zip tie has made it perform like new for 6 months now. After 2 years of use, I still can't say enough good things about this pouch. I bought a backup already just in case they stop making it.5Bad sewing, Velcro bad, not expandable or useful unless modified. But it looks nice & great pocketsGreat looking holster which holds most of my small tools but the complaints about the bad sewing at the seams are true. The threads are already starting to separate and I haven't had it but a few days. I recommend putting super glue on the threads at the critical points which I did and so far so good. I hate Velcro and I always have but the fact that there is not much adjustment that can be made for larger tools because the Velcro is way to small drove me crazy. I couldn't get the flap to close with my 75mm digital caliper case in the rear pocket. I like the pockets and the look of this holster but it is not practical, at least for me, so, I punched a 1.5mm hole in the flap, attached a rubber disk held in place with a plastic rivet, removed that stupid, bulky keychain and put a woman's elastic hair band that secures over the rubber disk and voila!, I made this holster work for me! If I did not do this, this CLC holster would be essentially trash2Great utility pouch if you have the right things to put in itI bought this item to store all my common pocket-tools in one easy to find spot. For work I usually carry my Leatherman Wave, an electricians knife, a flashlight, two accessory bit cards for the Leatherman, as well as a bit extension. I also carry a regular switchblade pocketknife and several pens and makers but my storage problem was really only pertaining to the first six items.I recently ordered a replacement leather belt sheath for my Leatherman to replace the nylon one which was slowly getting destroyed. Upon finding out that the leather alternative (sold by Leatherman itself) was too small to fit my accessories (the bit cards and extension) I decided to venture out to find a carry-all solution. This pouch by CLC seemed to fit the bill. I have been using it for several months now it's fallen short of what I was hoping to get out of it, but through no fault of the design or function of the item. The items I carry simply dont fit well in the provided pouches. My Leatherman and electricians knife share a pocket since they are too small by themselves to be in a compartment alone without slipping out. My bit cards stay in the inner spandex slip and the bit extension in the forward slip. Overall there's a lot of wasted space here but cramming it full makes removing any one tool a hassle. The innermost compartment has elastic sides to allow it to expand. It's just big enough to fit a Motorola Razr smartphone (without a case), but since I was using this for work I was afraid to carry the phone without my Otterbox around it so I never really utilized this pouch as I could have. The cover flap is shaped to allow the handles of a pair of pliers or cutters to stick out, however, there is no provision to let the ends of said pliers/cutters poke through the bottom. I've never used this item to hold these tools, but I suspect if you did after several months of use you'd have a nice frayed hole at the bottom of your pouch where the pliers or cutters were rubbing on the material. The belt loop/clip is a good idea but there is a problem with the design. If you use it as a belt loop (either in vertical or horizontal positions) the belt clip tends to dig into your side (unless you have a heavy leather belt like I do). The clip does work well but I'm not sure how much I trust it from slipping while loaded with the tools I have in it. It's not overloaded, but if placed at a severe angle the weight of the tools inside can overcome the friction of the clip on my belt causing it potentially to fall off (I'm talking nearly hanging upside down here though, nothing you'd experience day-to-day. The flashlight loop on the exterior is also a great idea, and it is just the right size to fit a AA size Maglite. I actually would prefer carrying the pouch horizontal (with the flap opening forward rather than up) but I found that if i leaned over things the flashlight would tend to slip out of its loop (as well as the contents of the pouch trying to escape). This leads me to the biggest complaint about this item. I really wish someone would have had the foresight to include a bigger "fuzzy" square of velcro on the flap. The "scratchy" side on the pouch body is well placed and of a decent size, but if you dont have super tall items in your pouch (like a pair of pliers or bulky cell phone), there is no way to pull the flap down tight over the compartments to keep things from falling out. This is the only reason I subtracted a star from my rating.I'm not real sure what the built in clip is supposed to do but I removed it immediately after unboxing the pouch. The clip head is just too small to be able to snap anything but a jump ring for keys into .The materials and crafsmanship that went into this are clearly of high quality. All the seams are well-stitched and it feels like this pouch will stand up to a good amount of abuse. I have used it for over a year and it's still in great shape.4
