Customer Reviews

Does what it's supposed to doThis is a great generic lens cap. It's functions like the original, but doesn't advertise the make - since Nikon isn't paying me to advertise their name!! Good price, good product. It's also a good spare to keep on hand if you happen to lose one. Highly recommended.5Did NOT fit my Nikon D3300 (18-55mm lens)I wanted a cheap fix for missing my lens cap for months. I should have just saved time and bought the Nikon brand replacement. This piece did not fit my camera lens. it feels so cheap too. I am returning since it said it would fit my 55mm. I went ahead and purchased the Nikon brand on amazon and it fits perfectly.1Great productFits my lens good, and the rubber focus ring cover is a nice bonus. I got this because I lost my original cap. I knew I would, since I always do unless I use a cap keeper. I didn't use one because they annoy me. However, unlike a lot of cap keepers with the elastic that goes around the lens, this one can be attached to the camera strap area and doesn't have to go around the lens barrel itself. Works much better for me, because the ones that dangle from the lens tend to bang around into it when I'm hiking and want to keep it off for quick shots. This way it's away from the glass. Very nice design.5Good strong lens cap that grips my lens.I have some nicely stored legacy lens (MD versions from the Minolta X700 and some good a-mount versions, I purchased use). I needed a stronger cap for one of them. I notice this design doesn't slip off, if it is accidentally bumped. Not sure what the rubber band that came in the package is for. If anyone knows its purpose, please leave a comment.4Highly recommended!A must-have if you're tired of being paranoid of losing your lens cap! I got tired of having to put the cap in my pocket and gently removing the cap every time I wanted to take photos on our Sony NEX-6L/B so that it didn't go flying out of my hand. This cap solves all those problems. You can attach it anywhere on your camera (we attached ours to one of the strap rings on the camera) and you'll never lose your cap again. It fits perfectly on our camera. No more delays in taking photos because I'm having to remove the cap gently to not lose it. Highly recommended!5Works wellThe sony one broke after a few years of light use. This fits well on the B+W xs pro digital uv filter I have on the 35 1.4. It us made of nice plastic. But the springs make a squeaking noise which makes it feel cheap but I could not care less. Price performance ratio: 5 star.5Pops off easy, responsible for my lens scratches. This lens cap is poorly designed and pops off very easily. It even pops off inside the bag. I had UV filter break in my bag and scratch my lens, which could have been prevented if this wasn't garbage. Also, the first one I owned fell off in the woods. 1Great replacement cap at a great PriceCamDesigns lens cap is an excellent replacement for canon 50mm lens cap. I hate using the old canon lens caps that required you to pinch the edges instead of the middle because when using a lens hood I would never be able to put take off the lens cover because the pinch able portion of the cap was covered by the hood. This solves that problem and is an excellent replacement for the original cap at a great price.5Doesn't stay on that wellIt stays on well enough when undisturbed, or if I tug on the fixed edges, so I assume the sizing is correct. If there is even the slightest amount of pressure on either of the sides used to pinch it comes off the lens with absolutely no resistance. It's better than nothing but I have to be careful about how I pack any lens with this cap on. I'll be buying a different cap to replace it.2Like most such products, it sits uncomfortably close to the front lens elementI docked one star because the inner face of the lens cap comes too close to my lens front element for comfort. It's tricky to measure, but I'd estimate less than 1/32" between the cap and my lens front element (some thin pasteboard would not slide across the lens with the cap on) on a couple of my lenses. A solid bump to the front of the lens cap could push it into the front lens element and do modest damage. My solution was to use a Dremel tool to grind a broad recess in the center of the lens side of the cap and then sand that area until it is smooth. The old style Canon lens caps, of course, provide a huge gap between lens and cap. The newer Canon pinch caps (very much like this cap) look to have a bit more space between cap and lens, but I did some grinding on them as well for the lenses where the front element is not recessed much. Similar caps that I've purchased from Adorama also sit too close the the front lens element for comfort and have received the same grinding work.4Decent for the price Not as sturdy as I had hoped, but you get what you pay for I guess. The product came with a rubber bracelet that looks like a focus ring, so some people might enjoy that little surprise. It has the string attached, but it is more secure than pictured, it is knotted on, if you don't have long nails or tiny tiny fingers it's pretty hard to get it out if you don't like this feature. I'm a professional photographer that is often changing lenses, these are my back up lens caps, so the string doesn't make sense for me. So trying to loosen those was kinda a pain. Again, not that sturdy, but for back ups they work just fine. 3Good replacement for a subpar original. As much as I like the Fuji X-mount cameras and lenses, Fuji can't seem to make a lens cap that will go on easily and stay on. This works much, much better than what comes with the lens -- I have the 18-55 and the 55-200 for an X-E2. Well worth the modest price.5My favorite lens cap design. I replace most of my OEM Sony, Minolta, and pentax lens caps with these. It is a clear rip-off of the Nikon design, and II find them easiest to get on and off the lens quickly. I haven't had one break yet, and when lost they're inexpensive to replace. They are thicker than some lens caps, but that really only bothers me on the Sony 16mm 2.8 pancake lens. 5
