Customer Reviews

Pleasantly SurprisedAs a lighting engineer with over 20 years experience I am quite pleased with both the light output and color of these LEDs. However, please be aware that these bulbs are slightly longer (from pin base to face of lamp) than a standard halogen MR16. This prevented me from utilizing the bulb locking mechanism on my lamps. However, the bulbs are well represented/described.4Yes, they flicker when dimmed. Sigh. The search continues for ones that don't.Bought 5 of these to swap out in our bathroom down-lights, but despite saying 'dimmable' guess what: they flicker when dimmed. The sort of flicker that an epileptic would not want to be near. As with all LED lights, the Achilles heel is flickering when dimmed. It *might* have something to do with my/your dimmer/transformer, as a few lucky people do not have issues, though most definitely do. The search continues for a non flickering dimmable Halogen replacement.Wish I'd read more reviews, but I rushed this purchase and here we are. Its such a bother to install/deinstall them, I might just leave it. Otherwise... like many say clearly cooler than the 3000k more like 3500 or 4000, not 'daylight' but definitely cooler than the halogens they replace. If you want a really warm light, then: not these. But they are bright and good otherwise.1Inexpensive yet Reliable LED replacement for MR16 Halogen (12V)These provide bright and reliable light, and cost a fraction of comparable bulbs from GE and others. I have bought several sets of them, and have had zero failures and problems, which I can not say about other less-expensive LED's. These have worked as a direct replacement for my 50W MR16 halogens. I have had no interference with any equipment (for instance, RFI or buzz in electronic audio products.) So far so good. LEDs are supposed to perform for five to 10 years. So far my longest experience has been about six months, with no signs of any defects, problems, or deterioration. Since they use 7 watts to replace 50, there's a noticeable effect on our electric bill, so I expect the investment to repay itself fairly quickly. Some of these bulbs are offered in 12V DC and 117V AC versions. Make sure you get the right one.5Great ValueI have only ordered Philips MR16 led bulbs in the past, but man they are expensivd. I was able to get this 5 pack for the price of almost just one Philips bulb, so I gave them a shot. Not dissappointed at all. Light is warm and bright. In our kitchen about half the cans still habe the halogen bulbs (waiting for them to die) and mixed with these and the Philips leds yoi really cant tell. I highly recommend, you cant go wrong.5Great lights. We were early adopters of LED lights, first using them in an off-grid location. We've wired many houses since then using M16 fixtures and have now used multiple generations of LED-M16 lights in them for over ten years.Of many we've used, the Bioluz LED-M16 lights are the best ones we've ever used. At 7 watts, they throw off at least as much useful light as a 50 watt halogen M16, and are far superior to the 5 watt bulbs we were currently using.I was skeptical because these are a bit pricier than the ones we've used before. However, they are definitely worth their price. Love them.5Tried halogen-replacement bulbs and been disappointed? Try these! After some disappointments with this type of halogen lamp replacement I decided to try these. They are excellent! The color temperature is consistent across packs (I needed two) and with their other LED bulbs. The room also has a large ceiling fan with conventional screw bulb sockets and Bioluz led bulbs work well in both roles and give a matched color temperature from dim to daylight-bright.The increase in available illumination with these vs. the original Halogen lights is incredible and makes the room much more useful. They dim well using (magnetic) Lutron dimmers with the original low voltage transformers from full power to almost no light. There is some small amount of humming, but it seems unchanged from the original halogen bulbs, so it's likely the transformers.5Very good beam spread, nice color and a good replacement for a 50w halogenAs an electrical engineer, I have looked for and used many different LED products. This is a great floodlight - as bright as the 50w MR-16 Halogens it replaces. The low cost worried me (bought similar items from Home Depot at 3 times the cost), but they work very well. I prefer the flood light vs the spots for the applications I've used these in, but will try the spots to see how they compare. Buying more today5Very happy with the purchaseWe replaced all the halogens and CFLs at our house with LEDs. The difference is amazing: We use Photovoltaics (solar power) to generate our electricity and now we have surplus. As to the Bioluz LEDs, they're quiet, lighter in color (to our pleasant surprise) than we expected from 3000K, and dim with no problem. We have 5000K LEDs (1600 lumen) in the same area and they look fine together. We chose Bioluz based on the reviews that it offers quality products, a good customer service, and a solid warranty. We also like the way they look. If you're thinking about changing to LEDs, we encourage you to do so because they can save so much energy. We recommend Bioluz for MR16 replacements because of its quality and warranty service. Very happy with the purchase.5if one goes bad, you'll hear from meThese are about 5 times more expensive and the halogens that you can buy from Phillip. However, I bought 15 of them to replace all the halogens lights at my mom's shop. Took me a while to convince her to replace them for LED ever since I replaced the first one for her. I immediately knew reason why she complained that the halogen bulbs die out too quick. She also had replaced 4 track lighting head herself within 18 months. It's the heat generated from these bulbs. They were so hot, I had to wait for a for couple minutes and use paper tower to remove them. The heat can burn the inside of the bulb lighting head and eventually damage the wire connector, a very possible fire hazard. As for the cost, she spent, 15 x 50w x 9hrs/day x 30 days x $.054/kw = $10.94/month, electricity for halogens. These led bulbs generate little heat, require next to zero maintenance during their lifespan, and totally cost $1.53/month instead of $10.94/month. It will only take 7 months for her to break even, plus a bonus of not having a 55 year old lady climbing the stair to replace the bulbs, while I'm away, because my lazy ass relatives won't do it.*These 5 stars are not permanent. if one goes bad, you'll hear from me.5Definitely recommend BioluzAfter purchasing and installing a handful of Bioluz R20 LEDs (reviewed them as 5 stars too), I felt confident in buying Bioluz MR16s to replace the five 50W Halogens in my kitchen. Packaging was nice and secure, shipping (Prime) was timely. Opened the package like a kid at Christmas and immediately got the ladder out and began replacing the old halogens. I am very pleased with the light provided, actually seems brighter than 50W. Shadows do seem to be a bit more pronounced, but not enough to take off a star by any means. While these bulbs are advertised as dimming, the lights in my kitchen are *not* on a dimmer switch so I can not attest to that aspect of this bulb.As I stated in my review of the R20 Bioluz LEDs, I'll keep this review updated in regards to the life-span I see with these bulbs. I'll also state that I'm very impressed with Bioluz...and am getting ready to order some more! Definitely recommend based on what I've seen so far!5
